Long Kesh

Ran across this link as a post on a forum. These are pics from Long Kesh, also known as the Maze. The place has been retired, and they're going to build a sports facility over it, but this is what Irish Nationalists, such as INLA or the IRA, could look forward to in the old (ie pre-2000) days. Note that they call the pens cages, cause that's what they were, chicken pens separated by wire fencing.

Today's the 85th anniversary of the birth of the Irish Free State. The signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty actually took place in January of 1922.
